Nerdyconnect ("we", "our", "the platform") is a halal matrimonial service designed to help Muslims find compatible spouses in a safe, respectful, and Islamically appropriate environment. We take the privacy and security of your personal information very seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights over it.

2. Information We Collect

• •Profile information: Display name, gender, age/date of birth, country, city, ethnicity, religious practice, education, occupation, and any other information you voluntarily add to your profile.
• •Private/verification information: Full legal name, phone number, and a government-issued ID document — collected for identity verification purposes only, visible only to administrators.
• •Photos: Profile photos and any additional images you upload.
• •Communications: Messages exchanged through our chat system.
• •Usage data: Login times, IP addresses, browser/device type, and activity logs for security purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

• •To create, verify, and manage your account.
• •To display your profile to other registered members according to your privacy settings.
• •To facilitate the matching, interest, and communication features of the platform.

• •To moderate the platform and ensure safety, including reviewing reports and flagged content.

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your information is shared only in the following limited circumstances:

• •Other members: Your public profile information is visible to other verified members. Photos are only shared when a photo access request is approved.
• •Platform administrators: Our team can access your information for moderation, verification, and support purposes.
• •Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of users.
• •Service providers: We may use trusted providers (e.g., email delivery) who process data on our behalf under confidentiality agreements.

5. Photo Privacy

Photos you upload are stored securely and are not publicly accessible by default. Other members must send a photo access request, which you can approve or decline. Once approved, your photos are visible to that specific member. You can revoke access by blocking the member. Profile photos are served through authenticated URLs and cannot be accessed by unauthenticated users.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, your data will be permanently removed within 30 days of the request. Anonymised, aggregated usage statistics may be retained for platform improvement purposes. Login and security logs are retained for up to 90 days.

7. Your Rights

• •Access & correction: You can view and edit your profile information at any time from your account.

• •Portability: Contact us to request a copy of your data.
• •Objection: You may object to certain processing by contacting us directly.

We implement industry-standard security measures including password hashing (bcrypt), HTTPS, CSRF protection, rate limiting, and secure session management. ID documents are served only to administrators through authenticated endpoints. Despite our efforts, no system is completely secure — please use a strong, unique password and keep your account credentials private.

9. Cookies & Sessions

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics. The session cookie is essential for the platform to function and is deleted when you sign out or your session expires.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the platform. Continued use of Nerdyconnect after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
